Difference between “femtosecond pulse or condensed light” and “parallel light”
Fig: Beam profile collapses with or without cover glass
A protective cover glass is usually attached on top of the CCD sensor.
Interference may occur between the cover glass and the surface of the CCD sensor.
In the case of “femtosecond pulse or condensed light”, interference is unlikely to occur, but in the case of “parallel light”, interference is likely to occur and it is necessary to use a CCD without a cover glass.
* NCG (Non Cover Glass) is attached to the model number of the camera set without cover glass.
Supported Cameras
*A camera with trigger option is suitable for measuring pulsed light.
*A camera without a cover glass is suitable for measurement of CW and nanosecond lasers.
*CCD cameras are sensitive to wavelengths up to 1320 nm, but there are errors in beam profile measurement. For accurate measurement of long wavelengths above 1100 nm, infrared cameras are recommended.
